Peter, who has been a keen Luton Town Football Club supporter for all his life, spent his 92nd birthday party on cloud nine thanks to the dramatic penalty shoot-out which gave Luton a victory against Coventry City!
An emotional Peter said: “I have been a lifelong Luton Town supporter, and it meant a lot to me to my club in the championship play-off final and see them beat Coventry to be promoted into the premiership next season.
“It couldn’t have been a better birthday present!”
Peter, who was a Luton season ticket holder for many years, watched the match from the comfort of his own armchair at Elstow Manor.
Elstow Manor Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coach Oliver Waddington said: “It was perfect timing for Peter, and we all celebrated his joy with him.”
Peter, who has worked as a joiner, warehouse manager and storeman, raised his family in Pulloxhill, Bedfordshire, where he has lived for more than 50 years.
After the big match, Peter celebrated his birthday with his family members at Elstow Manor Care Home in the private dining area.
