Excited children and their parents enjoyed a super holiday break when Cambridge Grove Care Home welcomed them inside to enjoy their big screen.

The home, which stocked up on homemade popcorn, crisps, and other treats, launched the initiative to support the community during the holidays.

The club proved a huge hit when the children’s film Moana was played.

Resident Brenda Cleevely, aged 97, said she loved the music.

She added:

“The music is beautiful, and Moana has a lovely voice.”

Fellow resident Mavis Collis, aged 98, said:

“I don’t usually watch children’s films, but this one has a lovely story.”

They were joined by local children, including four-year-old Stanley, Isla, aged 5, and Alice, aged 9, who joined with her Aunt Sophie from Ely.

Cambridge Grove Wellbeing Coach Amy Milburn said:

“It was a huge hit and so nice to hear all the laughing coming from the cinema room as parents, children as well as residents enjoyed the viewing.

“We shared snacks, including popcorn, crisps and chocolates, and the children had plenty to drink.

“The children chose the film, and it was a very good choice indeed. We cannot wait to open the holiday cinema club again.”
