The trained hairdresser, who is part of Dementia Friendly Barbers, is a regular visitor to the friendly home.
Leon even uses the original brand of Brylcreem, which especially delights many of the gents at the home.
Resident Alan said:“‘I have always loved having a nice clean shave, and this is great.”
Cofton Park Manor Community Relations Lead Wendy Sibley said: “Leon is full of life and always comes with plenty of stories.
“He is dementia trained so he always comes prepared and knows what cuts will make our residents happy. Our male residents absolutely enjoyed their pampering sessions with Leon. He is very warm, engaging and friendly. Every experience for every resident is unique to them.”
And the Brylcreem is a particular hit at Cofton because of its connections with Birmingham. The first Brylcreem product was a hair cream created in 1928 by County Chemicals at the Chemico Works in Bradford Street, Birmingham.
Dementia Friendly Barbers use a number of professional barbers, and just like Leon, they are keen to tailor the service for each individual resident, showing respect at all times.
