The event brought a touch of tradition to the home as well as inspiring some wonderful memories for residents.
Resident Nora Shelton, aged 95, remembers celebrating bonfire night as a child.
She said: “We always went to the local bonfire party to watch the bonfire crackle and creak, also with a guy on the top. There were always sparklers and to warm up a lovely hot drink.”
She enjoyed the delicious hot chocolate served up at Lovell Place on the night of the party, whilst the chef also served up delicious jacket potatoes and hot dogs.
Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coach Selina Adams said: “It was an amazing evening, and everyone loved the constant shower of fireworks.
“Some people chose to watch the display from the comfort of the lounge, whilst others ventured out to the garden to experience it up close and cheer the displays as they lit up the sky above
“Many of our residents said that it was such a long time since they’d been able to experience a bonfire party and the event brought back wonderful memories.
“Everyone enjoyed themselves, and it was lovely to hear lots of very positive comments and appreciation from our residents, their families and friends.
“We will all remember this night for a long time to come.”
