Alston House Care Home joined the Mission Christmas Santa Run which is the largest Christmas gift appeal in the UK.
Run by charity Cash for Kids, it is supported by Bauer radio stations, so when Rick turned up to collect the gives alongside colleagues, everyone at Alston House was surprised and thrilled.
Even Santa turned up to see the toys handed over.
Alston House Regional Community Relations Lead Rachel Pillay said: “We were so excited when Rick and the team turned up.
“This whole campaign has been amazing as it has brought us all together to support our community.
“We were all so happy and the Wave team were so lovely. We are delighted that all of our gifts will go to good homes.”
Resident Maz Watson, aged 84, said: "I am glad that charities like these exist because Christmas is for the children and making them happy.
"Every child should believe in the magic of Christmas and the kindness of other people because there are still kind people out in the world."
Fellow resident Alison Frankel, aged 83, said: "There are so many children that do not have much for Christmas, so it is good to know that we are contributing towards a happier Christmas for them."
Rachel Pillay added: "We are delighted we have collected such a wonderful mix of toys, and we feel privileged that we can support the campaign in this way."
