The books are sure to be a delight for youngsters at Busy Bees Nursery which is situated right next door to Edwalton Manor on Landmere Lane.
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coordinator Alice Kirkby said: “Our residents share a love of books with the children, so we wanted to give them a gift and what better than the magic of stories.
“Books open up whole new worlds to us all, and without going very far we can travel the world.”
The £50 books donation was supported by residents, staff and family. The gift ranged from sticker books to the famous The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson, and Do not open this Book, a current best seller by Andy Lee.
After handing the donation over to the nursery, resident Barbara Maddocks said: “It was lovely to be able to see the smiles on their faces.”
And a nursery spokesperson added: “We are over the moon and appreciate the generosity, I love our special connection between the home and the nursery.”
