Newton House lovebirds Roddy and Hilda Barclay joined fellow couples when they stepped back in time to watch a movie classic as they celebrated Valentine’s Day together.
It was an extra special occasion for Roddy, aged 80 and Hilda, aged 74, who are also celebrating their 51st wedding anniversary.
The couple enjoyed watching A Star is Born while enjoying an afternoon tea box made up of incredible treats, thanks to the Newton House team.
The 1976 film version stars Barbra Streisand as an unknown singer and Kris Kristofferson as a rock and roll star. It’s one of the most tragic and intense love stories.
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Kerry-Anne McDade said: “It is wonderful to see so many happy couples enjoy some time together. We have loved bringing some romance into the home for our Valentines and seeing everyone have fun on the day.
“Valentine’s Day is not just a time for couples to enjoy each other’s company but for us all to feel a bit of self-love.”
The specially made afternoon tea boxes contained delicious treats, including Jammie Dodger Blondies, love-heart cupcakes and shortbread as well as a range of delectable sandwiches.
