Richmond Manor Care Home supports Purple 4 Polio campaign

Richmond Manor Care Home supports Purple 4 Polio campaign

Richmond Manor Care Home presented a cheque for £200 to the Ampthill & District Rotary Club for their Purple 4 Polio campaign, a global initiative dedicated to eradicating polio.

The funds were raised during the Bedfordshire care home’s recent Cheese and Wine Evening, where residents, staff, friends and family joined forces to support the charity.

With the Rotary’s 2:1 matching scheme funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, every £1 donated becomes £3. This means their £200 donation will ensure that 3,000 children with receive the polio vaccine and protection for life.

The home welcomed Hazel Cannon, Polio Coordinator for Beds, Bucks and Herts, Graham Anker, Ampthill Rotary Club President, alongside other Rotary members including Philip Hinds and Daniel Cannon for a cheque presentation. Their visit brought insight into the work of the Rotary Club and inspired staff and residents with the impact their collective efforts can have.

Thank you to the Rotary Club members for taking the time to visit Richmond Manor Care Home in Ampthill and to everyone who supported the Cheese and Wine Evening.
