Elstow Manor kicked off the New Year as they mean t go on, with a well-being event designed to boost residents’ happiness and health.

Their first-ever ‘Fruit and Health’ afternoon provided a delicious treat as residents tucked into fruit-based refreshments, including smoothies and snack platters.

The nutritional treats were complimented by a special well-being session provided by Imagination Dance, a local community-interest group.

Residents were invited to move along with the dancers and have a go at drumming, as Imagination Dance showcased how to have fun while being healthy.

Eighty-seven-year-old resident Julia said: “It was a great afternoon of exercise, and I really enjoyed the fruit snacks afterwards.”

Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Oliver Waddington said: “It’s important to all of us to encourage healthy lifestyle habits, and there is no better time than the New Year to emphasise how important it is to exercise and eat healthily – as well as have some fun at the same time.

“There was so much laughter and energy during the afternoon. Thanks to our catering team for the beautiful fresh fruit platter and smoothies to encourage healthy refreshments.”

Imagination Dance works in the community with a range of organisations, from schools to care homes, encouraging a love of movement.
