Juice Up Your January: Get Fruity for Wellbeing!

At Hamberley Care Homes, we believe that the start of a new year is the perfect time to focus on health, happiness, and wellbeing. That’s why we’re excited to launch our Juice Up Your January campaign, encouraging residents, staff, and visitors to embrace the power of fruit and healthy habits across our care homes in the UK!

Fruits are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that promote better health, boost energy levels, and support overall wellbeing. By incorporating fresh fruits into our daily routines, we can brighten up the winter months and bring some sunshine to everyone’s day.

Throughout January, we’ll be hosting a variety of fruity activities across our homes, including:
🍓 Fresh fruit tasting sessions
🍍 Smoothie-making workshops with residents and staff
🍎 Educational talks on the health benefits of fruits

Why Focus on Fruits?

  • Boosts immunity: Packed with Vitamin C, fruits like oranges and kiwis help strengthen the immune system
  • Improves digestion: Fiber-rich fruits like apples and pears keep digestion smooth
  • Enhances mood: Natural sugars and nutrients can uplift spirits and reduce fatigue
  • Hydration heroes: Juicy fruits like watermelon and citrus fruits keep us hydrated

Recommended Smoothie Recipe: Banana & Berry Smoothie
Here’s a simple, delicious, and nutritious recipe to try at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana, peeled and chopped
  • 150g frozen mixed berries
  • 100ml apple juice
  • 100ml low-fat natural yogurt

Method:

  1. Pop all the ingredients into a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately!
