Health kick at Verwood leaves residents feeling on top of the world

Everyone at Verwood House couldn't wait to throw off the January grey with a vibrant Wellness Day of activity.

Wellbeing Coach Emilia Turner planned the day meticulously, making sure that everyone was given a chance to try some healthy new experiences.

As well as serving up a range of delicious smoothies, Emilia organised a range of activities

dedicated to health, relaxation, and community connection.

This included a visit by Sandra Chantrell at Cosy Corner, who visits Verwood House weekly, giving residents a chance to practice yoga and other relaxation therapies.

On Wellness Day, she demonstrated the sound bowls to residents and how the soft sounds can help with relaxation.

Resident Margaret said: "I enjoyed the relaxing music and sound bowls with the yoga lady."

Fellow resident Fred said: "Sandra is wonderful - she always visits me to support with therapeutic activities."

Meanwhile, the smoothies also proved to be a huge hit.

Emilia said: "Smoothies are healthy blends of fruits and vegetables and offer a popular way for everyone to meet their daily intake of vitamins and minerals."

The menu on the day included three different smoothies: Red one (mixed berries), Green Machine (kale, apple, mango, spinach) and Pink one (banana and strawberry). All smoothies were mixed with coconut water.

Resident Betty added: "The smoothie was delicious, the team here are wonderful organising such activities for us to enjoy."
