Chawley Grove residents have a wine-derful time at their new club

Strong friendships and new tastes are being cultivated thanks to the new Chawley Grove Cheese and Wine Club.

The popular afternoon club at the luxury home is a chance for people to enjoy some good conversation over delicious refreshments.

Residents Liz Young, aged 88, and Neville Bulman, aged 92, are just two of the residents who have joined the club and have discovered they have some shared interests.

Neville said: “What a pleasant way to spend the afternoon, we get to learn about the wine, the cheese and all the while enjoy lovely company with friends.”

Neville, who worked in Africa during his career as an engineer, is pictured enjoying the company of Scottish-born Liz.

The club offers a good selection of wines and cheeses to residents and sometimes the sessions focus on a specific region or type of wine.

Along with other residents, the couple are also busy enjoying the bingo session at Chawley Grove.

Chawley Grove Wellbeing Lead Danielle Hudson said: “It’s lovely to see residents build strong friendships, it really is what makes Chawley Grove so special.

“The Cheese and Wine Club is a great success, and we are delighted to be able to offer it.”
