Tasty green cakes were hailed a huge success when residents at Chawley Grove Care Home celebrated St Patrick's Day.
Along with the amazing bakes, residents at Chawley Grove Care Home also enjoyed a day of reciting Irish poetry, listening to music, and watching some amazing dance routines to mark the special day.
Chawley Grove Wellbeing Lead Danni Hudson said everyone was keen to go green on the day and as well as dressing up in green, everyone insisted on green cakes.
However, the search proved a huge challenge, so the home's chef decided to make Chawley Grove's very own St Patrick's Day green cakes!
Danni said: "It proved quite tricky to find 'green' cakes, so our wonderful chef baked our own, and in spite of our initial concerns over the green – everyone loved them, and we have certainly set our very own tradition."
During the day, residents at the Cumnor Hill home were treated to a morning cinema screening of the Riverdance, followed by an Irish-themed exercise class.
An Irish poetry class was held instead of the usual book club.
Resident Jenny Westcott, aged 89, said: "I remember my mother reading us The Lake Isle of Innisfree to us children before bedtime, and it has stuck with me all these years later."
Everyone also enjoyed an Irish-themed piano recital, with the celebrations ending with Guinness, Baileys, and the scrumptious homemade green cakes.
Home manager Angelika Ziomek said: "We've had a fabulous day, celebrating all things Irish! We'd like to wish everybody celebrating a very Happy St. Patrick's Day."
