Cambridge Grove celebrate first birthday with black-tie event

The red carpet was rolled out when Cambridge Grove welcomed residents and guests to celebrate its very first special birthday.

The splendid black-tie event included amazing canapes and first-class prosecco – and guests even enjoyed a roulette table with free chips for everyone.

Centenarian and Cambridge Grove resident Douglas Reed said: “It was a well-organised evening for everyone to enjoy. I feel very honoured to live at Cambridge Grove.”

During the evening, awards were handed out to the team, and winners included Homemaker Rosie Dore, Homemaker Lead Leonila Vitacion, with Mario Pedrialva picking up the Staff Member of the Year (2024) Award.

Homemaker Lead Charlotte Doggett said: “I love being part of a team that is so focussed on making sure residents are enjoying every moment. It was a wonderful evening celebrating together.”

Guest Brian York, whose father-in-law Maurice lives at Cambridge Grove, added: “The staff at Cambridge Grove never fail to put on a fabulous event.

“It shows how well they work together all day, every day, ensuring everyone is well cared for.”

Home Ambassador Amy Milburn said: “It was thrilling to have the red carpet, and everyone enjoyed getting dressed up for the occasion.

“Residents, family members and our team wore dresses, suits and traditional clothes from their country. It was wonderful to see everyone make such a fantastic effort.”
