Cute pooches deserved a round of a-paws when they strutted their stuff at a Palmers Green care home for its first-ever dog show.
The Scruffs Dog Show at Brookwater House Care Home, Oakthorpe Road, has been hailed a success, with more than 50 people turning up for the fun.
Brookwater House resident and show judge Doris Morgan, aged 95, said: "Almost all the dogs were well-behaved, and we were mostly in agreement on decisions."
The former Edmonton resident added: "I grew up with a family dog named Tony, alongside my two sisters, three brothers, and a cat - it was wonderful having a dog as part of the family."
Local Enfield behaviour practitioner and animal trainer Clare Grierson compered the event with categories including the waggiest tail, best paw shake, best sit and stay, dog with the fluffiest ears, longest eyelashes and more.
Guest Jackie Ludlam came along to see the dogs and support her mother June who was also a judge on the day, as well as being a Brookwater House resident.
She said: "We all had an amazing time, though I'm pretty sure my mum was cheating! It was a wonderful afternoon, and it was certainly tough keeping up with the dogs."
Show organiser and Customer Relations Manager at Brookwater House, Amba Shaw, said: "It has been amazing, and it was so lovely to meet all the lovely dogs. It was a fun day for the family, and the doggie prizes went down a hit.
"In fact, it's been such a success we are already planning next year's event."
