Talented young dancers couldn’t wait to show residents their latest routines when they visited Abbots Wood Manor.
The dancers from Holdance Studios, Hailsham, visited the home along with school founder Christine Holdford.
Home Manager Helena Barrow said: “The dancers are very inspiring and so wonderful to watch - they really put their best foot forward, and we are all very impressed. The residents enjoy seeing them.”
As well as performing for the residents, the dancers, who have a big show coming up in July next year, encouraged the residents to also get active.
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach at Abbots Wood Manor Kay said: “There are so many benefits to music and dance; not only is it a very social activity, but it gets us all moving.
“Dance helps strengthen our bones and muscles, as well as improving our balance and posture.
“It’s also a wonderful way to bring back those memories. We are very grateful to the young dancers for coming along, forging such lovely friendships, creating lots of smiles as well as teaching us all something new.
“Everyone benefits.”
Dancer school founder Christine gained her bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre Arts at Chichester University and launched Holdance Studios in May 2021 with just a handful of students. She now has around 50 students and teaches a variety of styles, including ballet, tap, modern musical theatre, street dance as well as mini acrobatic sessions.
