Wimbledon Warm Up For Montague House Residents

Delighted tennis fans at Montague House couldn’t wait to warm up for Wimbledon, creating their very own pre-tournament entertainment.

They opened their doors to the community during Care Home Open Week designed to celebrate the incredible work at care homes across the country.

And they decided to give Open Week a tennis focus with their very own Wimbledon Warm Up Party serving up Pimm’s, Prosecco and plenty of strawberries and cream.

Customer Relations Manager Jacqueline Brown said:

“Everyone was in great spirits especially as the weather was so nice.

“We watched famous best bits from Wimbledon over the years and did a Wimbledon quiz, which was won by Diana, our business admin assistant and her husband Wayne, who are avid Wimbledon fans.”

Several members of the local community joined the fun as well as staff, friends, residents and family.

Jacqueline added:

“It was a lovely day. We also had some previous respite residents come back to join us for the get-together.

“Jane Wright, the daughter of one of our newer residents, said you could easily mistake this for being in a holiday resort rather than a care home whilst basking in the sun with a Prosecco.”

Resident Muriel added:

“I always look forward to the tennis so I will be fixed to the screen over the next few weeks. It’s lovely enjoying the matches alongside friends here at Montague House.”
