The haggis was beautifully piped in when Milgnavie House residents kicked off their celebrations on Burns Night.
Residents and staff at Milngavie Manor enjoyed a fantastic night of entertainment when Kenneth, from Westerton Male Voice Choir, addressed the haggis.
He was perfectly piped in by talented local schoolgirl Amy. Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Morag Scott said:
“Everyone was in good spirits, we had wonderful entertainment from entertainers Kenneth, Arthur, Ernie and Iain. They looked amazing in their tartan, and their voices could be heard for miles around. Kenneth also recited Holy Willie’s prayer, and it was word perfect.”
Kenneth, Arthur, Ernie and Iain, who all sing in the Westerton Male Voice Choir, were in perfect pitch for the occasion. And everyone was impressed by Amy’s playing too. Morag added:
“It was a lovely way to remember and toast Robert Burns and carry on the traditions that are important to us.”
Every year in Scotland, on January 25th, Burns' Night is marked to celebrate the life and works of Robert Burns, a poet and lyricist.
Westerton Male Voice Choir has more than 60 members and members regularly tour the area and further afield, as well as performing at festivals and raising money for charity.
