Sunshine and smiles were in abundance when Elstow Manor residents took a trip to a local garden centre.
The adventurous group were on the lookout for some lovely new colour for their glorious gardens at Elstow Manor.
During their visit to Frosts Garden Centre in nearby Willington it was the amazing yellows and oranges of the artificial sunflowers that captured the imagination.
Resident Jean, aged 92, said:
“It was beautifully hot and a lovely way to spend the afternoon, especially as there were so many sprinklers keeping the plants nice and cool. They had a super selection and gave us plenty to think about for our own gardens. We all loved the giant manufactured sunflowers – they were bigger than us! Perhaps we will grow the real thing next year.”
Customer Relations Manager Val Foley said:
“We always love visiting the garden centre as there is so much to see and it’s all very tempting. Everyone was also able to enjoy a very refreshing cup of tea in the restaurant. We enjoy these trips; they give us an opportunity to have experiences and make lovely new memories.”
