Visitors to Cambridge Grove left feeling great this January after they were treated to an afternoon of pampering.
The Wellness Afternoon at Cambridge Grove Care Home included a range of luxury treats. Guests enjoyed hand massages, mindful colouring, exercise sessions, and a meditation room. There was even a session of origami for those who wanted to get more creative.
A range of healthy refreshments were also served up, including homemade smoothies and fruit platters – all with the freshest of ingredients.
Guests included Cambridge's former mayor and honorary councillor, John Woodhouse, and his wife, Margaret.
John told the Cambridge Grove team:
“You have amazing facilities, and the home is stunning. Thank you for inviting us.”
The afternoon also included tours of the luxury new home, and guests even left with goody bags. Ten-year-old schoolgirl Lily especially enjoyed the mindful colouring. She said:
“I love to colour as it makes me feel very relaxed.”
Another guest, Jenny Parks from Cherry Hinton, was most surprised by the delicious smoothies. She said:
“I never thought I’d like a smoothie, but these taste great – I’d definitely have one again.”
Guest Andre Newbigging, also from Cherry Hinton, benefitted from a hand massage which was gently conducted by Cambridge Grove Homemaker Rosie Dore. Andre added:
“It feels nice to have smooth hands.”
Wellbeing Coach Amy Milburn said:
“It was wonderful to see all the smiles and to see that people were enjoying this lovely home and getting to know each other. Reaching out to the community is important to us as well as being able to share healthy living tips and ideas. The wellness afternoon proved such a success, we hope to do more in the future"
