Curious residents at Montague House Care Home stepped back billions of years when they visited a famous museum in Cambridge.
The residents took a trip to the amazing Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences – but realised there was so much to see they are planning another trip.
The museum’s collections are of national and international historical and scientific importance and include more than a million rocks, fossils, minerals and materials collected over more than 250 years.
Montague House resident Jane said:
“It was truly fascinating to see the artefacts, and only a small amount of the fossils, rocks, and minerals are on display. They even have the collections of Charles Darwin, and that certainly got us talking.”
After touring the museum and chatting about the displays, the group visited a local garden centre for lunch.
Montague House Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Gabrielle Butler said:
“The museum is a perfect way to spend the day, especially if you have a curious mind, you can spend a lot longer there. It’s a great place for all ages, truly fascinating; it got us discussing 4.5 billion years of earth history!”
