It was a busy day for Milngavie residents when they explored the Sea Life Aquarium and did a spot of shopping at Loch Lomond Shores.

The residents chose a lovely sunny day to visit the complex, which includes hundreds of shops, activities, an aquarium, restaurants and cafes – all set on the banks of the beautiful Loch Lomond.

Resident Dorothy said:

“It is a huge place and so lovely to visit, especially if you’re curious and want to have a good look at everything.”

Wellbeing Coach Morag Scott said:

“We are a busy bunch at Milngavie, and Loch Lomond certainly has something for everyone.

“We were also lucky to have the sunshine and enjoy meeting up with friends within the community, too.

“We were all happily exhausted, and it was nice to get back to a wonderful dinner at Milngavie Manor at the end of the day.”

After they'd visited some shops, enjoyed a packed lunch and a refreshing cup of tea in the café, the Sea Life Aquarium proved a huge hit, allowing residents to explore an amazing underwater world with its seven themed zones.

The aquarium houses more than 5,000 creatures, including the largest collection of sharks in Scotland.

The trip was part of Milngavie Week which is an initiative delivered by the Community Development Trust of Milngavie. The week included the Highland Games, car shows, bus outings and other community activities.
