Fun-loving residents at Abbots Wood Manor brought the sunshine home when they decided to celebrate National Hawaii Day.
The special day, called Lei Day, is a celebration of Hawaiian culture when people often celebrate by giving gifts to one another.
At Abbots Wood Manor residents each made a lei which is a symbol of love, friendship, honour and greeting.
In ancient Hawaii, wearing a lei represented wealth, royalty and rank.
Abbots Wood Manor’s Wellbeing Coach Kay said:
“When we think of Hawaii, we all think of sun, sea and sand and the wonderful colour and celebrations.
“So, we wanted to bring a touch of that to Abbots Wood Manor and we all really enjoyed making the gifts and everyone looking so lovely.”
