Vibrant colours and big smiles shone out at Abbots Wood Manor when the care home celebrated the Holi Festival.
The Holi Festival is an ancient Hindu festival and is used to welcome spring and is also seen as a new beginning.
It’s also a chance to celebrate friendship and love with people throwing coloured water and powder at each other.
Helena Barrow the Registered Home Manager at Abbots Wood Manor, said:
“We have a wonderfully diverse team here at Abbots Wood Manor, and it’s important that we celebrate cultures from around the world.
“Everyone had fun celebrating our friendships, and of course, the smattering of colour was amazing.”
Residents were overjoyed to watch the celebrations from the cosy indoors, while the Abbots Wood Manor team took their celebrations into the garden.
One of our residents said, amid laughter:
“It was lovely seeing everyone enjoy the Holi Festival and I have learned so much about this joyous Hindu holiday.”
