Favourite Tastes And Memories Shared At Abbots Wood Manor

image

Delighted residents and staff at Abbots Wood Manor celebrated National Cocktail Day by inventing some of their very own fantastic flavours.

A range of delicious ingredients were used to create the drinks, which as well as tasting incredible, conjured up some lovely memories.

Resident Tim said he loved his fruit punch and grenadine the most and enjoyed the afternoon chatting with fellow residents.

Resident Ann said it made her think of her times in the Dominican Republic and all the exotic fruits that were so accessible.

She said that the combination of fruit juice and grenadine was amazing. Whilst fellow resident Sandra said the champagne and strawberries were the best!

Regional Community Relations Lead Richard Hollands said:

“After having several conversations with the residents about favourite flavours and tastes of the past, we discussed with them if there was a favourite cocktail or flavour, we could re-create. The favourite memories for most were having a small Babycham when going to the dance halls and having a Snowball at Christmas time!”

National Cocktail Day is celebrated every year and was thought up by holidaymaker Jace Shoemaker-Galloway. She thought it would be a great idea for holidaymakers, but today, it is something people can enjoy and celebrate in their own homes or together with friends.
