TWO delightful guests made it rein with festive cheer when they visited nursery school children as well as residents and families at a Newton Mearns care home.
Ivy and Hamish turned up at Newton House Care Home, North Greenlaw Way, with Real Reindeer Scotland to spread Christmas cheer.
They were joined by children from nearby Mearnswood Nursery and the wider community for the happy event.
Newton House resident Elspeth McGowan, aged 86, said: “It was absolutely fantastic! What a lovely thing to see. It really made my day!”
The care home opened its doors to the community, inviting people to enjoy a range of delicious festive bakes and refreshments.
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Kerry-Anne McDade said: “Ivy and Hamish brought an abundance of Christmas cheer and got us all very excited for Christmas. They are the gentlest creatures.
“It was amazing to see the crowds come on the day and see the delight on the children’s faces. It was a truly lovely environment to be in.
“We opened our hearts to the community as our home became a lively and social atmosphere for all to enjoy.”
Newton House resident Lillian Connelly, aged 96, added: “It was brilliant, and the reindeer were absolutely beautiful!”
