An inspirational Sevenoaks care home worker has scooped the top prize in a prestigious regional awards event.
Lead Homemaker at Nesbit House Care Home Alice McLellan-White has won The Care Home Worker Award in the Regional South East Great British Care Awards.
Alice said: “I am thrilled to be recognised for doing the job I love. It’s a real tribute not just for me but to my wonderful colleagues and to all the people we care for.
“We believe that everyone, no matter our age, should be treated with dignity and respect.”
The 2024 South East of England regional finals of the Great British Care Award attracted a large number of entries from across the region.
The awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The finals will be held in spring 2025. The idea of the awards is to pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
Judges praised Alice and said: “Alice’s kindness, proactive support, and unwavering commitment to excellence make her an invaluable member of the team.
“She consistently goes above and beyond, inspiring those around her with her dedication and innovative approach. This honour truly reflects the exceptional impact she has on the workplace and community.”
Home Manager Charles Knowles said: “We are delighted that the judges recognised Alice’s skills and her passion for the job she does every day.

“We cannot wait until the spring where Alice will be competing in the finals of the awards - we will all be crossing our fingers for her.”
