Grandmother Joan was happy to share her 92nd birthday celebrations with other family members giving everyone a chance to make a birthday wish.
London-born Joan celebrated with friends and family at Elstow Manor Care Home, where the team had beautifully decorated the dining suite, especially for the occasion.
Joan’s birthday had been delayed due to a hospital admission, and when it was rearranged, it was a perfect opportunity to share her big day with other family members, including Jill, Ruth and Ian.
And since the big day fell on Mothering Sunday, the day turned out to be extra special. Joan said:
“It was lovely to share my birthday with daughters Jill and Ruth and stepson Ian. We all made a wish and there was certainly enough cake to eat and candles to blow! It was all just amazing, and I didn’t expect it!”
Joan’s daughter Ruth said:
“We would like to thank the Elstow Manor team for providing such a wonderful experience in helping us to celebrate our mother’s birthday in 'The Elstonian', the private dining suite. We had been disappointed when an emergency hospital admission meant that we had to postpone her planned birthday tea and were delighted to be able to rearrange it to coincide with two other family birthdays. The Elstonian looked absolutely superb. The Chef and kitchen team had prepared a mouth-watering array of delicious food, beautifully presented and with lovely extra touches such as the chocolate fresh strawberries.”
Resident Graham Langton couldn’t wait to serenade Joan with ‘Happy Birthday’ on his guitar.
