‘70s Dance Fever Hits Cofton Park Manor

Twinkle-toed residents at Cofton Park Manor showed off their dance moves when the home turned back the clock back to the 1970s.

Energetic resident Barbara Wild, aged 75, impressed everyone when she carried on dancing to every song from Staying Alive by the Bee Gee’s to Red Light Spells Danger by Billy Ocean.

Barbara said:

“I always loved to boogie along to 1970s music, and all the moves came flooding back.”

Fellow resident Pauline Powell, aged 81, added:

“I have had so much fun, and the day brought back many memories.

“It was also lovely to see the staff in their 1970s outfits, all glittery and shiny!”

As well as dancing and jiving to the music, residents also enjoyed cheeky 70’s classic cocktail - Pina Colada – as the entertainment came to an end.

Community Relations Manager Wendy Sibley said:

“It was a wonderful day, the 1970s was such a fun decade of entertainment. There were so many extravagant performers and I think we managed to recreate a bit of that at Cofton Park Manor.

“The day has certainly created many new memories for all of us, and I am sure residents will be talking about our costumes for some time to come!”
