Residents and staff transformed their appearances by trying on the colourful glitter wigs.
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coordinator Alice Kirkby said: “For us, it was a great chance to be silly. We all loved the way the wigs seem to transform us and spent the whole day laughing at each other – in the best of ways!”
National Wig Day originates in Denmark and was originally created for co-workers to brighten their day.
Alice added: “Laughing is certainly good for us, it means our heart rate increases and more oxygenated blood is circulated around the body.
“This all means it helps prevent heart disease, so as well as all the mental health benefits, it helps us physically.
“Whilst we were trying on all the wigs and making each other laugh we were improving our mental and physical health.”
Relatives and guests also joined the fun on the day, bringing cheer to the home.
