The children from Ernesettle Primary School in Biggin Hill, visited the home as part of their intergenerational programme aimed at bringing the generations together.
Ernstell House Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Rachel Stephenson said: “It was delightful to have the children visit and perform for us of us.
“They performed a variety of songs and some familiar tunes. They are certainly a credit to the school.
“All of the children were wonderfully behaved and well-mannered and we look forward to inviting everyone back in to visit again in the near future.”
The school and home have established a close link with one another as part of their intergenerational work.
A better connection between generations is known to help to build bridges and close gaps.
Intergenerational activities can help different age groups relate to and value one another which in turn can reduce ageism, break down stereotypes, and increase empathy.
Rachel added: “It’s so true that children keep us young at heart and the children from the choir club at Ernesettle Primary School certainly helped invigorate and energise us all.”
