The group of residents, who have their very own Lunch Club, tucked into a fantastic meal of fish and chips followed by ice cream at the local Beefeater in Newton Mearns.

During the meal, they were entertained by singer Julie Max who got everyone in the mood for dancing with the famous sounds of Sweet Caroline and Burn Baby Burn, among other hits.

Resident June Bain said: “It was just fantastic, and the atmosphere in the place was just brilliant. I loved hearing some songs that I haven’t heard in ages!”

Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach at Newton House, Kerri MacNeil, said it was one of the best days out ever.

She said: “This is the second time we have been, and the residents love it. Some residents were up dancing and took over the floor, while others enjoyed dancing at the table. A great time was had by all!”

As well as the wonderful meal and music, residents also enjoyed a raffle as well as a touch of bingo.

Kerri added: “It is so much fun to go out as a group, we are able to develop some lovely social bonds, and it is always a treat eating out, the music was a huge bonus.”
