Homemaker George Peech, and resident Dr Singh, have been busy exploring the historic Potteries in the Midlands.
The idea for the trip came about after George talked so enthusiastically about his childhood in Stoke-on-Trent, Dr Singh asked whether he could share a slice of that and learn more about the history of the area.
Stoke-on-Trent has been shaped by the pottery industry for over 300 years and is known the world over as 'The Potteries'.
So, the pair travelled to Gladstone Pottery Museum near where George grew up – and ended up spending five hours there.
A pottery first opened on the site in 1787.
Dr Singh, who is a former urologist, said: “It was a fascinating trip; it is so interesting to see life in a quieter city.”
Homemaker George said: “It was wonderful to visit somewhere I know well but with someone who had a whole new perspective on it and real curiosity.
“Dr Singh asked a lot of questions and showed a real interest in the history of the potteries. I felt like I was exploring this all over again, but in a whole new way.”
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coordinator Alice Kirkby said: “Our friendships are important to us as well as sharing experiences, and this was the most wonderful day for George and Dr Singh.
“It will be interesting to see where they head next!”
