Feathered friends impress at Montague House

The Raptor Foundation stopped by with the impressive birds of prey, including owls and hawks, and talked to residents about their work protecting the beautiful creatures.

The foundation rescues, rehabilitates and returns injured birds of prey back to the wild. It also works to preserve and protect them through education and conservation.

Montague House Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Gabrielle Butler said: “Elliot from the Raptor Foundation was absolutely fantastic.

“He engaged with the residents, their families and visitors, his care and passion for what he does shines through.

“The residents were so fascinated and loved getting up-close to the birds and learning about all the things the Foundation does.”

And residents, family and other visitors were highly impressed at how the incredible creatures gently rested on Elliot’s arm with their razor-sharp talons which are normally used for hunting.

Resident Bernice Boatwright said: “They are such fantastic and beautiful creatures.”

As well as returning rehabilitated birds to the wild, the Foundation provides medical care and sanctuary for un-releasable raptors.

The organisation also provides research into environmental issues.
