Ranger Diana from Animal Encounters was delighted to introduce her weird and wonderful friends to everyone at the home.
These included snakes, a bearded dragon, a tortoise, a skink lizard, a giant millipede, a hissing cockroach and giant land snails.
The visit created shrieks of laughter whilst some residents couldn’t wait to handle the unusual creatures.
Alston House Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Lidia Nikolova Gjorgjieva said: "All of us, residents and staff members, were very brave to touch and hold the reptiles.
“We learnt some very interesting facts about the foods they eat, how they move and how to keep them safe.
“Diana was wonderful with the residents and the animals and made everyone feel very comfortable.
“We are so pleased she took them all home, though!”
