Ernstell House Care Home residents in perfect pitch for musical magic

Registered musical therapist Elise Livingston from Amped Music Therapy spent the day at the home encouraging residents to play a range of instruments.

Ernstell House Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Rachel Stephenson said the session had proved highly successful and everyone enjoyed taking part.

She said: “Music has a wonderful way of helping us express ourselves and for many people helping bring back fond memories.

“We will certainly be doing this again. It not only builds strong social connections and communications skills but is a good physical activity, it gets us moving.”

Elise works across North Cornwall, Plymouth among other regions.

Rachel added: “Elise is amazing and came with her guitar, instruments for the residents, and song sheets.

“She also involved staff and families visiting on the day. It made everyone feel very upbeat.”
