The group decided to look to Halloween shapes and colours for inspiration in their creative project, which resulted in amazing paintings.
The paintings are now on show at the home and delighting guests who are commenting on the brilliant colours and texture of the work.
Resident June Sinclair said: “It was great to be a part of the session, and it was wonderful to see it all come to life – it really brought me back to my youth!”
The session was run by Creative Mojo (Glasgow and Clyde), who brought along leaves, pumpkins and bats for the activity.
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach at Newton House, Kerri MacNeil: “Art is such an incredible way to relax and has a remarkable way of bringing people together.
“It was lovely to hear about people’s memories of Halloween and also to see how residents could adapt ideas from the shapes and colours.”
Creative Mojo runs craft experiences for the elderly and adults with learning and physical disabilities and mental health concerns. The business also specialises in working with people with dementia and within wider community groups.
Kerri added: “The artwork was such fun to do and is now providing guests with something wonderful to look at, we are delighted with the results of this session.”
