The group of residents were thrilled to see the beautiful shore and, after a breezy walk, tucked into a delicious fish and chip meal on the seafront.
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach at Newton House, Kerri MacNeil, said: “We had a wonderful day, and we cannot believe the Scottish weather even stayed nice for us the whole day.
“There was certainly a breeze, but it was a good day for a stroll and great conversation.”
Resident Brenda, who has visited Ayr in the past, said: “It was wonderful to visit the seaside, I have not been here for years.”
The sandy beach, 37 miles southwest of Glasgow, is one of the best in Scotland, and on a clear day, you can see the Isle of Arran or even the north coast of Ireland.
And apart from the amazing views, there is the bonus of sea air. It contains iodine, salt, and magnesium, encourages respiratory health and can reduce the symptoms of asthma, promote respiratory health, improve allergies and skin problems, and stimulate the immune system.
Overall, a great day out for all at Newton House.
