Staff and residents decided to celebrate Shrove Tuesday by making an amazing platter of pancakes.
Resident Phyllis Turner, known as Phyll, who has eaten at the prestigious The Savoy Hotel in London, said the pancakes tasted best with lemon juice.
The grandmother of two lived in nearby Eastbourne before she moved to Alston House. The former secretary who loves doing a good crossword and quiz, also said the pancakes looked great.
Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. This year Pancake Day in the UK takes place on Tuesday 21 February.
