Residents enjoyed a week of activities focused around the theme of this year’s event – growth.
Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coach Hannah Jean organised a plethora of sessions for the amateur boffins.
This included making their own lava lamps, creating jelly bubbles for the top of cupcakes and working with a flower arranging expert on stunning floral displays.
There was also a science quiz, experiments with colour and lots of new discoveries during the sessions.
Residents had a great time learning new skills and honing their flower arranging techniques.
Hannah Jean said: “It was a fantastic, busy week full of exciting discoveries!
“It was great fun to make our own lava lamps using vegetable oil, water, bicarbonate of soda and food colouring.
“The residents were amazed by how good they looked, especially given we used simple plastic bottles to create them.”
One popular session was focused on horticulture, specifically using different types of shrubbery to create beautiful flower displays.
Enthusiast Maureen Evans from the Badgers Mount Residents Association showed residents how to plant bulbs in arrangements, utilise foliage and make the displays pop.
Hannah Jean added: “Maureen’s displays are magnificent, and it was wonderful for the residents to watch her work and follow along.
“We devoted the whole Bistro area to the activities so that everyone could spread out.
The result was four big, beautiful arrangements and a host of smaller displays that were dotted around the home.
“We were so grateful to Maureen for sharing her expertise and putting on such a brilliant workshop.”
