The sprightly resident was joined by her daughter Elaine and son-in-law Don, as well as fellow resident and friend Helen for the joyful celebrations.
Bette and Helen were the first residents to move into Milngavie Manor in 2017, and they’ve brought laughter and fun to the home community.
So, it was with great pleasure that the team hosted Bette’s birthday party, which involved a delicious afternoon tea.
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Morag Scott said it was a delightful occasion.
Morag said: “We were thrilled to be with Bette to celebrate her 98th birthday – she’s an inspiration to us all.
“She truly makes the most of every day and is such a sociable lady.
“She keeps active by playing chair badminton, doing chair exercises and Boccia bowls. Bette also loves playing dominoes and attending concerts, as she enjoys listening to music.
“It was fantastic to see her surrounded by so much love from her family and close friend, Helen.
“Bette’s our oldest resident, but she’s got the positive attitude of someone in their 20s!”
On her big birthday, Bette donned a tiara and birthday sash, so everyone knew she was queen for the day.
Her party room was decked out with balloons, and her guests tucked into homemade sweet and savoury treats.
Morag added, “Everyone had a fabulous time, and Bette really enjoyed herself.
“Here’s hoping we all have her zest for life when we are approaching the big 100.”
