John and Stuart of HMP Grendon, have spent their spare time making the models at the prison and since John’s wife is a carer for those with dementia – they decided to use their creative talents to raise cash for the home.

Using cardboard and matchsticks the pair created perfectly shaped models which they are raffling off to raise money.

Chawley has pledged to spend the donated funds on booking extra entertainment for residents during the Christmas holidays.

Home Manager Michelle Daly is delighted with the project.

Michelle, who once worked at HMP Grendon as a nurse, said: “We are very grateful that John and Stuart have reached out to us, it’s a very kind gesture.

“The work they have done with the models is exceptional.

"They demonstrate that with patience you can create something truly incredible and help the community at the same time.”

Grendon Prison is a men’s prison in Grendon Underwood, Buckinghamshire.
