Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Touria Oulhat discovered that residents Tina and Barbara were interested in making their own jewellery, so planned to get them started.
Kind-hearted Touria bought the ladies jewellery-making kits for Christmas so they could begin the hobby and make their own charm bracelets.
She also purchased keen baker Les a polar bear cupcake kit so he could get to expand his baking repertoire too.
Touria said: “It’s great to be able to support residents in their favourite hobbies – and to introduce them to new ones.
“Jewellery making is a great craft to learn, and recently Tina and I had a great afternoon making the charm bracelets together.
“Crafting is a really social activity as you can chat away as you get creative. We got a lot out of the session.”
Touria is also helping to establish a new knitting club at Caddington with the help of a new resident.
One of the ladies who has just moved in is a skilled knitter and has agreed to share her wisdom with residents who want to learn how to do it.
She’s also going to be there to guide knitters who aren’t as confident as she is, and Touria thinks it’ll be a great asset to the home.
Touria said: “I love it when residents can share their talents with us – and we recently welcomed a lady who is excellent at knitting.
“I know the knitting club will be a huge hit among the residents and be the highlight of the monthly calendar, just like baking club.
“I’m excited to see the club’s knits and what they create together.”
