Pigs, goat, sheep and, believe it or not, a pony, all came to visit residents and staff at the Bournemouth care home.
The animals from Ems Friendly Farm delighted everyone at the home as they seemed to be on their very best behaviour and settled in comfortably.
Verwood House’s Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Emilia Turner said: “We were overjoyed to have the animals up close.
“They were so gentle and such great entertainment. Animals are known to be a stress buster and really do make people smile. We had a lovely day with them and do hope they will visit us again.”
The mobile farm, based in nearby Southampton, provides an animal therapy service as well as educational opportunities for schoolchildren.
When the furry friends visited Verwood House residents and staff were able to stroke them and also given them a bit of tea – or special animal feed.
Emilia added: “They were no trouble at all, they were lovely and clean and all we did was a bit of sweeping up afterwards! They each had their own personality, and we were all so surprised at how well behaved they were.”
