At our luxury Oxfordshire care home, residents and visitors have ample choice on how they spend their time. With Oxford, Bicester, Henley-on-Thames and picturesque villages nearby, there are a variety of day trips to enjoy.
For city lovers, Oxford’s range of culture, dining and shopping makes it a wonderful destination. From the peaceful surroundings of the Botanic Gardens, theatre trips, museums, restaurants and tours of Blenheim Palace, there is always somewhere to spend a day out.
In summer months, the city is a beautiful destination for river cruises, walks and sightseeing. Closer to home, the unrivalled Oxfordshire countryside around the local areas of our Cumnor care home provides endless delight, and residents regularly visit the local shops, pubs and take part in community events.
We are proud to work in partnership with a number of local community groups and organisation including Parkinsons.Me, the Alzheimer's Society Oxfordshire, Dementia Friendly West Berkshire, The Oxford Food Hub and Aston and Cote Day Centre.
In our busy, happy home there’s plenty going on. We are committed to building strong community links and work hard to ensure there’s a varied programme of events. We hold regular events within our Oxfordshire home, including live musical performances, visits from therapy animals, activities with local schools and community groups, and seasonal celebrations.
People living with dementia in the local area are always invited to our weekly ‘Dementia-Friendly Wednesday’ event. Every Wednesday, we host a hair and beauty salon experience, a coffee morning and our Dementia Friendly Cinema Club, where people living with dementia can enjoy the silver screen experience in a warm and welcoming environment.
Not every care home in Oxford can offer the luxury of Chawley Grove, so it’s a privilege to host community get-togethers here.
