Home Ambassador

Amy Milburn

Home Ambassador

My name is Amy and I’m very excited to be the Home Ambassador at Cambridge Grove Care Home. Since training as a teacher and working in schools for many years, I started working in care, in 2020, when I became lifestyle co-ordinator for an ‘Outstanding’ home. I thrive on ensuring that residents experience a happy and exciting time in their home within the care sector; making new friends, continuing to enjoy old hobbies and also finding new ones to learn and love. It is also very important to me that relatives and friends experience the fun we offer too by inviting guests to many events and outings. If residents are happy and smiling, then I go home feeling happy myself.

I enjoy meeting new people and showing everyone around our beautiful home. Building and maintaining a professional relationship with residents and relatives is an important part of my role and I am glad to be able to offer this throughout the home.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 21-year-old daughter. We love to play games at home, go out for dinner and watch musicals in the theatre. We have quite a few pets at home – 2 cats, marine fish, a tortoise and a snake!

"Over the course of my career, I have successfully assisted numerous families in transitioning their loved ones into our care home. Addressing concerns with empathy and care, I've ensured that every resident and their family feels supported and secure throughout the moving process. Moving a loved one into a care home is a significant life transition. I take pride in being a source of comfort, trust, and reliability for families during this emotional journey. Knowing that I play a pivotal role in creating a warm and welcoming environment is incredibly rewarding.

I love meeting new people, the residents always have very interesting and amazing stories. I love learning from them!"
